The Word’s Club Spotlight is…The Chapellettes!!!!
January 14, 2021
With their sparkles, fringe, and iconic red lipstick, the Chapellettes Dance Team is well-known around the area for bringing flair and pride to the Rummel Campus. You’ve probably seen them perform at Rummel football games, pep rallies, parades, and more! The Chapellettes were founded in 1966 and are now under the direction of Stephanie Kammer-Taylor ’94, and Cheryl Surcouf Pelle ’92. These well-renowned performers have earned a name for themselves by winning Superior awards for the last few years!
Eighth-grader and new member, Averey Dunn claims, “The best part about being a part of this team is the bond that we have together. My mom and aunt were on the team and it made me want to be a part of such a select group of girls. I love performing for fans during football games and showing Raider Pride through dance.”
Next time you’re at a football game, look for the Chapellettes performing along with the Raider Band!
